Fine-Free Guarantee Terms

If your restaurant is fined for an expired permit, license, or certification that PermitPilot was tracking and failed to warn you about, we pay the fine — up to $2,000.
1. What's covered
- The item was entered in your PermitPilot dashboard with a confirmed expiration or renewal date before the citation was issued.
- Reminders were enabled on the account and PermitPilot failed to send the scheduled 30, 14, 7 or 1-day alert to the contact details on file.
- The fine was issued specifically because that item had expired.
2. What's not covered
- Permits, licenses or certifications you never added to your dashboard.
- Items with missing, incorrect or unconfirmed dates that you supplied.
- Alerts we delivered that were not acted on.
- Fines unrelated to expiration — failed inspections, health code violations, operational citations, penalties or interest.
- Delivery failures outside our control: an invalid phone number or email, a full inbox, carrier blocking, or spam filtering.
- Citations dated before your account setup, or during a lapsed/cancelled account.
3. Limits
- Maximum payout of $2,000 per claim.
- One payout per customer per rolling 12-month period.
- The citation must be dated after your account setup date.
- Claims must be submitted within 30 days of the citation date.
- Payment is made as a reimbursement to the account holder or as account credit, at our option.
4. How to claim
Email a copy of the citation, the affected location, and the permit or certification in question to info@houstonpermitpilot.com within 30 days of the citation date. We review our alert delivery logs and respond within 10 business days.
5. Good faith
This guarantee exists because the reminder system is the product. If it works, we never pay. If it fails, you shouldn't be the one holding the bill. It is not insurance and does not replace your own responsibility to maintain valid permits. Requirements can change — always verify against official agency sources.
6. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in effect on the date your citation was issued applies to your claim.
